Head of School
I am absolutely delighted that I have been appointed the new Head of School for DGFS.
Some of you will recognise me as a familiar face from my years at the Middle School and it is lovely to now be with some of the younger siblings of the children I had been teaching over the years, as well as lots of new faces and families.
I began my career teaching Primary and Early Years so it feels right that I have returned to my roots. I love my job, and endeavour to visit every classroom every day to interact and be present in the children’s learning journey.
I’m passionate about cross-curricular teaching, developing opportunities for outdoor learning, (so much so that I have already set the classes a small gardening challenge!!); and helping to shape and create awe and wonder events that get the children thinking.
When I’m not at school I enjoy crafting, my current project is making a quilted bag and painting; I absolutely love reading and I try to read at least one book a week as well as finding time to relax and enjoy time with my family or taking time out to row or kayak on the River Thames.
I’m very much looking forward to working with you all to continue the school’s journey to outstanding.
Year 4 Teacher + Assistant Head Teacher
I am Cindy Barry and I have been working here at Dedworth Green for the past 9 years where my teaching career began. Since being at the school I have taught in Reception, Year 1, Year 3 and year 4. I have also recently been appointed Assistant Head Teacher which I am thoroughly looking forward to. Dedworth is an amazing school with wonderful children, staff and parents.
Before my teaching career began I started off as a nursery nurse working with children aged 6 weeks to 5 years. I loved working with, nurturing and supporting children which encouraged me to begin teaching.
In my spare time I spend time with my husband James and my son Lucas. I also enjoy swimming, reading and running which I have started to do more of recently.
I am currently Acting Head Teacher of DGFS whilst Miss Brown is on maternity leave.

I am now in my 5th year of working at Dedworth Green First School and I absolutely love it here. The School staff team are great and it's like having a second family around you.
My role is Nurture Manager and we usually have a Reception Nurture group of about 8 children whom we support each year in the Sunshine room in the mornings and then we do additional support sessions for other key groups of children to enhance their confidence, self - esteem and well- being throughout the year.During my time here we have gained both the Quality Mark Award for our Nurture provision and also National Nurturing Schools status which says a great deal about our whole ethos and values as a staff and our School.
I have 3 children who are now all in their 30's and 5 grandchildren, some of them have visited with me during the School holidays when I have projects that I am creating and they always say how they would love to come to DGFS and what a lovely place it is.
I hope to be here for many more years and enhance our nurturing ethos even further.

Reception Class Teacher and EYFS Phase Leadreception@dedworthgreenfirst.com
Hello. My name is Nusheen Awan and I teach Reception and Lead the Early Years (Nursery & Reception) at DGFS. I have been teaching Early Years for over twenty years and this is my third year of teaching in Windsor. I work with a great team of happy, smiley people and we strive to create a vibrant and stimulating learning environment for our Nursery and Reception children both indoors and outdoors, where they feel safe and secure as they explore and find out about the world around them.
I love storytelling, creative projects, singing and exploring the outdoors with children as they learn about our amazing world.
At home, I have a grown up family of three daughters and a husband who makes me laugh :) I enjoy cooking, creating art, cycling and watching films.
Year 1 Teacher
I am Kelsie Palmer and I am the year 1 teacher at Dedworth Green! I have recently joined the school and this is my first year teaching! I trained to teach in Sheffield, and went to University in Southampton. Although I am new here, I know how wonderful the school is and I am grateful to work with such an amazing team!
In my spare time I enjoy art and any excuse to be crafty! As well as art I am a huge fan of football and netball and love to play when I have the chance!
Year 2 Teacher, English and PE lead
My name is Holly Foulkes. I have worked at Dedworth Green First School for the last five years.
I have attended Windsor schools throughout my school career before attending Kingston university and am thrilled to be working back in the Windsor schools community. My degree was for Primary education with English specialism. My passions are keeping fit and reading a wide range of literature, which is fitting as I am both the English and PE lead for the school.
Since becoming the PE lead I have maintained the school games gold award for four years at Dedworth Green First School and after the allotted time will be going for platinum! I was also able to get the outdoor gym for the students and enrich them with after school and in school physical activities, including introducing the daily mile. I encourage both staff and pupils alike to stay active and healthy as a lifestyle choice and something you 'get' to do not 'have' to do.
I have continued to look at our Literacy schemes and how we can improve it. Since taking this role over last year I have organised the celebration of Roald Dahl Day, World Book Day and a whole school story competition.
I have lived locally my whole life and when I am not at school I love long walks in the country, playing sports like badminton, cooking and reading.
Year 3 Teacher and KS1/2 Phase Lead
Hello! I am not surprised I am a teacher at Dedworth Green First School as I was a pupil at the Middle School, after a family move. Unfortunately, I never had the chance to experience Dedworth First as a child, however the great experience I have working here as an adult; I know I would have been incredibly happy here.
After graduating from Winchester University with a Drama degree (initially wanting to become a secondary drama teacher), I was lucky enough to secure a teaching assistant role at Dedworth Green First School. I quickly trained to become a primary school teacher at DGFS and continue to love teaching five years later. I aspire to leave every pupil I teach with a positive experience of learning that will impact a tiny part of them for life. It has been a privilege to look after Key Stage 1 and 2, giving me the chance to communicate with even more families and children to support their education.
When I am not teaching, I am learning Spanish, spending time with loved ones and enjoying siestas!
