I am Louise Brown, Head Teacher here at Dedworth Green First School - a school which has always been close to my heart after I completed my final teaching practice here whilst studying at the University of Reading. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine I would return one day as Head Teacher!
Prior to returning to DGFS in 2015, I have taught many different age ranges at two Primary Schools in Nottinghamshire and Doncaster. I have also completed post graduate qualifications in Special Educational Needs and Mathematics, and Leadership in Education which has helped me to have a greater understanding of theories behind teaching and how to lead school improvement. The experience I have gained in other settings has provided me with lots of ideas on how I can make our school here in Dedworth even better! I have also been a governor at two other schools prior to joining the governing body here.
In my spare time I love shopping, spending time with friends and family and sometimes going to watch Reading football games (although they never seem to win when I go and watch!)!
I am passionate about making a difference for the children, families and local Dedworth community and look forward to working with you all.

Early Years Phase Leader/Year 2 Class Teacher
Hello, I’m one of the nursery teachers. I have worked at DGFS for six years. I started at DGFS as a student in Year 2 and then came back to take up the post of Year 3 teacher. Now I work in Nursery so have enjoyed working across Early Years, KS1 and 2 during my time here. I love watching the children explore and learn through the activities we set up. It is especially amazing in nursery to have an impact on the children as they start their journey at school.
When I’m not in school, I love spending time with my family and two young daughters Ruby and Esmé. I enjoy reading, running and playing netball in my spare time.
Reception Class Teacher
Year 1 Class Teacher
I am Emma Horner and this is my third year at Dedworth Green First School. Since joining the team I have taught Year 1. I love teaching in Key Stage 1 and I am proud to work in such a great community. Dedworth Green has always made me feel very welcome and I particularly like seeing the children and parents enjoying the PTA events.
Before I started teaching I worked as a research scientist for several years before choosing to change career. I decided to switch from working with bacteria to working with children – although there are still plenty of germs!
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my partner and our two beautiful dogs. I love taking them for walks, cycling or going camping.
I am very excited to be part of another Year 1 class progressing on to Year 2.
Assistant Head Teacher (Teaching and Learning)/Year 2 Teacher
Year 4 Teacher
Year 3 Teacher
Year 4 Class Teacher and KS1 and 2 Phase Leader
I am Cindy Barry and I have been working here at Dedworth Green for the past 5 years where my teaching career began. Since being at the school I have taught in Reception, Year 1, Year 3 and am about to begin Year 4 in September. I have also recently been appointed phase leader for KS1 and KS2 which I am thoroughly enjoying especially working with the other classes closely. Dedworth is an amazing school with wonderful children, staff and parents.
Before my teaching career began I started off as a nursery nurse working with children aged 6 weeks to 5 years. I loved working with, nurturing and supporting children which encouraged me to begin teaching.
In my spare time I spend time with my husband James and my son Lucas. I also enjoy swimming, reading and running which I have started to do more of recently.
I am looking forward to teaching in year 4 and continuing to be a part of a wonderful team.
School: Hi, My name is Mrs Troublé I have just started at Dedworth Green First School. I have been working in early years for 8 years and I find this very rewarding. I have a passion to provide a nurturing environment in which children can thrive. I am very creative and love to get involved with art and craft activities. Aprons at the ready! I also enjoy encouraging the children’s self-help skills to watch them grow and learn to be independent.
My family: I am happily married to Fred. We live locally with our two children Léa and Florian who are respectively 11 and 9 years old. At weekends when I am not busy supporting my children in their hobbies, I like to attend some yoga classes or go swimming
