Values

Promoting British values at Dedworth Green First School

We agree with the Department for Education’s five-part definition of British values:

• Democracy
• The rule of law
• Individual liberty
• Mutual respect
• Tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs

At Dedworth Green First School students will encounter these principles throughout everyday school life through our Golden rules, PSHE and other areas of the curriculum.

We have also come up with a list of our own values linked to the above which we would like all the children to work towards, these are:

Respect

Aspirations

Pupil Voice

Keeping safe

Empathy

Confidence

Individuality

The children are taught these through PSHE, whole school assemblies and circle time, and all are celebrated across the school.
