School Lunches
School Lunches are freshly prepared on site daily. ABM Catering are our catering company. The lunches run a three week cycle and the menu changes 3 times a year for the autumn, spring and summer terms. The Menu is emailed to you and can be downloaded from the School Website. There are also regular ‘special days’ to celebrate events and add further variety to the food on offer. All meals meet Government Standards for Healthy School Meals.
For the academic year 2024-2025 the cost of a school lunch for pupils in Nursery, Year 3 and Year 4 is £2.45 per child per day or £12.25 per child per week. Dinner money must be paid on our Arbor system. This Cashless Payments System is easy to use for all parties. A Link Code is sent to all parents.
The School Kitchen needs to know how many children will be having lunch the day before.
Lunches for each day must therefore be ordered and paid for IN ADVANCE by 6.00pm the day before via Arbor. LATE ORDERS AND PAYMENTS CANNOT BE ACCEPTED. Parents have to prepare a packed lunch for their child/ren on the day if the deadline is missed.
All children in EYFS and KS1 (Years R, 1 and 2) are entitled to Universal Free School Meals.
Healthy School Status
As a ‘Healthy School’ we encourage pupils and their parents / carers to take a responsible attitude towards the mid-day meal and abide by our rules. This means a lunchbox containing healthy, balanced food items, no chocolate or fizzy drinks and limited salty snacks such as crisps.
Pupils bringing their own packed lunches in are also welcome a drink of water to go with their meal.
Healthy Snacks for Break time – Fruit/Vegetables and Water.
Pupils are encouraged to bring in a snack for break time, comprising a simple, single piece of fruit (or small container of grapes or blueberries for example). Water bottles are encouraged in school and can be filled from the tap in each classroom.
Free School Meals
All the children in EYFS and KS1 are entitled to Universal Free School Meals. A family receiving income support from the Department of Health and Social Security is entitled to Free School Meals for their KS2 children. The school is able to provide the website link for parents to complete online application.
Packed Lunches
Children who bring packed lunches to school eat them in the school Dining Hall with the other children.
