School Council

The School Council represents the children’s voice, giving all children at Dedworth Green First the chance to share their ideas and have their say.

The children meet every fortnight to discuss any ideas and initiatives that have been passed on to them from their classes. 

Each class from year 1-4 has two representatives, who are fair, responsible and trusted member of the school community. These representatives have been voted for democratically.

School councillors also pass on any issues that arise and are brought to their attention. The school council then discuss and plan how to tackle these things.

Eco Team

Our Eco Team is now up and running at Dedworth Green First School. Children from Year 4 have been selected by their teachers to contribute towards keeping our environment tidy and resourceful. Various jobs have been distributed amongst the team including: ensuring recycling bins are being used across school, encouraging the use of less paper, ensuring the playground is tidy and safe for everyone, and many others which the children themselves have thought of. We are certain that the eco warriors will make a huge difference to our environment and are looking forward to sharing their successes with everyone.

Sports Leaders

Our Sport Leaders have been picked by their teachers as these leaders adopt and demonstrate the School Games values as well as encourage their peers to live Healthy Lives. The six School Games values were developed by young people to recognise how the experience of being physically active should be a major part of school sport and to reflect the ‘spirit’ of the School Games.
