EYFS Uniform

Children in the Early Years will be exploring the indoor and outdoor environments and much of their learning will be through physical activity. School clothing therefore needs to be comfortable but also practical and appropriate for running, pedaling, climbing, painting, etc.

We have recently adapted our Early Years uniform to meet the needs of our youngest learners. All children in Nursery and Reception are expected to wear our Early Years uniform.

EARLY YEARS (Nursery and Reception) UNIFORM

• Emerald green school t-shirt (with logo* or plain)
• Emerald green school jumper, cardigan or hoodie (with logo*)
• Plain black tracksuit bottoms or leggings (elasticated waist)
• Black comfortable shoes (plimsolls/pumps/trainers)

Plain items are available from most supermarkets/department stores or uniform outlets.

Elastic waistbands and Velcro fastenings allow your child to be more independent and this helps to avoid some ‘incidents’ when using the toilet.

Your child must wear footwear in which they can safely climb, run and pedal in. The

children play outside every day and need to have safe shoes, so trainers/pumps with

Velcro fastenings are ideal.

Some parents also prefer to send in a pair of wellies to keep at school to explore the garden when the weather has been wet and the ground is soft.

Your child should learn how to put on their own shoes/wellies independently.

Although your child will not need a separate PE kit, it would be useful to have a separate set of clothes (top, bottoms, pants and socks) in a PE bag in case they need to be changed.

PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT ALL ITEMS OF CLOTHING and footwear ARE CLEARLY LABELLED WITH YOUR CHILD’S NAME as we will have 50 new green jumpers/cardigans at school.
