Welcome to our Governors’ section. 

Please find below details of how our Governing body is structured, including the names, categories, responsibilities and terms of appointment for each Governor.

 

About our Governing Body

 

The Governing Body of the school is made up of people from a variety of backgrounds. The school governors are a group of individuals, who bring additional skills and experience to the school and are representative of parents, staff and of the local community. 

 

They work with the Executive Head Teacher and Head of School and are responsible for 

 

  • setting the school’s vision, ethos and strategic direction 
  • holding the Executive Head Teacher and Head of School to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils; 
  • overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent

 

Who's Who

 

Mrs Louise Toulorge - Chair of Governors 

Louise has been a governor at DMS since 2016 and Chair since September 2019. She believes it is rewarding to work with the DMS school leaders and Windsor Learning Partnership to improve the quality of education and she enjoys the challenges of the role.

Her younger daughter left DMS in 2019 and is now at Windsor Girls’ School, her eldest daughter left WGS in 2020 and is now at the University Of Liverpool.

She worked in Human Resources and recruitment in the financial services and compliance sector for a number of years. She returned to work a few years ago, after a career break, and now teaches French to primary school age children. She is also French Language Assistant at a 6th form in the Borough.

 

Mrs Carol Watkins

 

DMS Governor since November 2018. School governor in Windsor for 9 years, including Chair of Governors at a local first school. Married with 3 children and associated pets! Interests are gardening, walking, paddle boarding, playing netball, theatre and reading.

 

Mrs Kerry-Ann Blandlin 

 

She has worked in the education sector for over 20 years with a specialism in curriculum. 

She has a daughter who attends DMS and another one who will be attending in 2 years so has a vested interest in ensuring the school works well for her family and a genuine interest in ensuring the same for other parents too.

Her aim is to use her experience to support the Executive Head Teacher and Head of School and all other stakeholders in developing new initiatives within our school to maintain and improve standards including progress and achievement ensuring our children have the best possible education.

 

Mrs H Stratton

 

Mrs Stratton is the Head of French at DMS. She has taught languages for over 20 years. 

When she is not in school, she enjoys watching world cinema, catching up with most comedy shows, as well as discovering new walks along the Thames with her two children.

Liz Bharj - Clerk to the Governors

 

Liz has been the Clerk to the Governing Body for a number of years, starting in post in 2012.  After having a period of absence in 2017, Liz returned to Dedworth Green in 2018 to resume Clerking duties.  Liz clerks for a number of other schools within the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead.
